Multimedia Artifact
Select a significant purpose typical of your discipline/grade level.
My name is: Sammy Daynes
My content area/discipline is: Theatre Ed
The grade level I plan to teach is: Middle/High school
The typical educational purpose I will address is: Advertising auditions for an after-school play
2. My reason for choosing this purpose is: I anticipate having to make a poster for this specific purpose the first time I teach at a school. I want it to be something interesting and engaging that will encourage as many students as possible to audition.
3. Multimedia artifact for accomplishing this purpose: Poster/flyer
4. Possible technological tools for creating this: Graphic design tools
5. The tool I will use: Canva, a website for creating graphic designs
6. What have you done to try to evaluate sources for bias and avoid biased portrayals of diverse identities? Why is this important?
I wanted this poster to seem like something accessible for anyone, and that it wasn't catering specifically to the drama club or anything else. That's why I made a more generic poster first, so that it would hopefully attract a wide range of people, and then made a second poster with more detailed images of the show. I could put both posters up around the school, one to demonstrate what the show should look like and one that was more simple. Hopefully it will interest not just drama kids but a wide range of students.
